WEEKEND RECAP | 2026 GARRETT MELBOURNE JAMBOREE

What a weekend! It was great to be back racing in Melbourne, and we would like to congratulate the team at Victorian Motorsports Park on a fantastic facility. We had a great time back at the track and look forward to returning in the future.

Testing

Heading into testing, our main focus was getting our first 330ft sorted, as this had been an area we had struggled with over the past few events. After making several adjustments throughout Thursday’s testing, we finally worked through the issues and were able to fine-tune the car in the right direction.

Our final run during Friday’s testing saw us put down a 5.89 @ 236MPH, giving the team plenty of confidence heading into race day.

Qualifying

Coming into our first qualifying run on Saturday, we were confident we could replicate Friday’s performance. We ran a 3.84 @ 198MPH to the 1/8th, but unfortunately, the car got loose around half-track, forcing us to abort the run.

We sat out Qualifying 2 to thoroughly inspect the car and ensure everything was in order. Despite the interrupted qualifying run, we were pleased to secure TOP QUALIFIER.

Race Day

Heading into Round 1, we had a bye run and took the win.

As the day progressed, the Victorian Motorsports Park crew worked through some challenges with one of the lanes, making adjustments to the running schedule and ultimately reducing the number of rounds. We want to acknowledge the hard work of the entire Victorian Motorsports Park team in managing the situation and doing their best to keep the event running.

Heading into Round 2 against John Ricca, our team made the decision to sit out the round after considering the conditions. It was a tough call, but we want to make it clear that we have full respect for the Victorian Motorsports Park crew and staff. We know how much work goes on behind the scenes to put on an event like this, and we appreciate the time, effort and professionalism that went into managing the challenges throughout the day.

A huge thank you to the crew and staff at Victorian Motorsports Park for all their hard work and hospitality throughout the weekend. We appreciate everything you do for the sport and the effort that goes on behind the scenes to make these events happen. We look forward to being back at the track again soon!
